What are fears…are they your fears or are they what you have been taught to identify/take on as your fears (via societal or society construct)?  Be aware/conscience of what is yours or what you accept from others (societal construct/society construct) to be yours as it relates to your feelings, your emotions, and your perspective of things.

Social construct is very common and not necessarily viewed objectively.   Are you are able to relate to some of the following phrases (just to name a few) that are given meaning to by society? For example…pink is for girls and blue is for boys, …you are considered to be an adult at the age of 18 (not all are ready for that)…boys/men should not cry (they should hide their emotions)…boys play with trucks and girls play with dolls, men should work and women stay at home (gender roles).  If you can relate, know your fears and not what you have been trained to accept from ideas and influences of others.  Be aware of built in barriers that have been acquired overtime.

Self-awareness is a vital tool that is important to your process of understanding fears/your fears. Take the time to become self-aware…get to know who you are, what you are made of, and what you will accept or reject in your life’s choices/decisions.  Unfortunately, fear(s) paralyze, fixates, stunts positive growth, blocks movement, and stops movement forward to an appropriate healing process for you.  Self-awareness is a process that a professional counselor/therapist can help you with taking the first step(s) to healing.

Food for Thought…the unknown or unknowns that we have no control over fuels stress, fuels anxiety, fuels depression, and fuels worry. Unlocking/releasing the self-imposed fears we engage in, tells us that fears are valid and not to be ashamed to speak about/admit your fears to yourself and to someone trained to help you.  No matter how irrational your worries/fears may seem to you, it is vital to allow/enable self to engage in what is blocking your capacity to recognize your ability to move forward to an appropriate healing that you need.  It’s time to reach out for professional help to get your life in order toward a positive movement of healing.
